作者簡介:When Ruth A. Musgrave was in 3rd grade, an ocean unit about scientists exploring the sea inspired her and she wanted to be part of it. For a girl in the heart of the midwest in the 1970's this was an impossible dream. Finding her niche as she grew up was a challenge because her interests and love of animals never quite fit into typical careers. A few years after graduating college with a degree in education, Ruth's life took a 90-degree turn and ran smack dab into her future when she got a job teaching and writing about ocean animals. Today, she is an award-winning children's writer, specializing in marine and animal science. As a naturalist and lucky hitchhiker on scientific trips, she's been to the deep sea, the lagoons in Mexico to see gray whales, and more. Musgrave has also been fortunate enough share her love of animals, the ocean, and ocean exploration through her freelance work and as a frequent contributor to National Geographic Kids.
