作者簡介:Chris Van Allsburg (born June 18, 1949 in East Grand Rapids, Michigan) is an American author and illustrator of children's books. He twice won the Caldecott Medal, for Jumanji (1982) and The Polar Express (1985), both of which he wrote and illustrated, and both of which were later adapted into successful motion pictures. He received the Caldecott Honor Medal in 1980 for The Garden of Abdul Gasazi.
艾爾斯伯格1949年出生于美國密歇根州。一個偶然的機(jī)會，使他成為了一位圖畫書的作家。他1979年發(fā)表的處女作《阿卜杜勒·蓋薩茲的花園》（《The Garden of Abdul Gasazi》），一鳴驚人，獲得了1980年的凱迪克銀獎。另一部作品《勇敢者的游戲》（《Jumanji》），不僅摘取了1982年凱迪克金獎的桂冠，還被被改編成了一部廣受歡迎的電影。如果再加上這部《北極快車》（1986年凱迪克金獎），他一共獲得過三次凱迪克獎。他為孩子們繪制了數(shù)不清的圖畫書，并因此在1982年獲得了女王終身成就獎（The Regina Medal）。
